Treatment plant repairs and fault diagnosis

We diagnose the cause and carry out the repair: pumps, blowers, alarms, chlorinators and irrigation. Callouts from $120, and no work proceeds without your approval.

If an alarm is sounding now

What to check first

It is usually one of two alarms: a high water alarm, which often relates to the irrigation pump, or an air alarm, which means the blower is not delivering enough air. Many control panels show which alarm is active.

  1. Check the power

Confirm that the plant’s power point and the circuit breaker at your switchboard are switched on.

  2. Water alarm? Check the irrigation

A high water alarm usually means the irrigation pump is not pumping out. Check that the pump is plugged in and switched on, and that the irrigation hose is not kinked or crushed. Reduce water use, including washing, the dishwasher and long showers, until the problem is resolved.

  3. Air alarm? Check the blower

The air blower should be running and delivering air. If it is silent, check that it is plugged in and switched on. Occasionally the small hose to the alarm’s pressure switch comes loose: if you can see that it has come off, push it back on. Do not open any electrical components.

  4. Still sounding? Call us

Call 0495 096 532. You may silence the buzzer, but please do not ignore the warning light: a plant can overflow within hours to days.

What we fix

Common faults we diagnose and repair

Air blowers

No airflow, a noisy or worn blower, or a failed diaphragm. Without air, the beneficial bacteria die off and the plant begins to smell.

Irrigation pumps

Pumps that fail to start, run continuously, trip the power or cannot deliver water to the sprinklers.

Alarms and floats

Alarms that will not stop or, more concerning, never activate. We test the floats, alarm and control box.

Irrigation

Broken or blocked sprinklers and drippers, leaking lines, and boggy or odorous patches in the irrigation area.

Pipework

Cracked or leaking PVC pipe and fittings between the house, the plant and the irrigation area.

Odours and poor water quality

Rotten-egg odours, cloudy or dark water and chlorinator faults, traced to their cause.

Pumps and blowers

Replacement parts carried on our vehicle

We carry common replacement irrigation pumps and air blowers, along with PVC fittings, so many repairs can be completed on the first visit without waiting for parts.

If your system requires a part we do not carry, we will tell you what it is, what it costs and how long it will take before ordering anything.

Call us early
